Rohitash Gaud has established himself as one of the finest actors in Indian television, primarily known for his impeccable comic timing and natural acting prowess. Over the years, Gaud has become a household name, especially for his role as Manmohan Tiwari in the hit sitcom Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!. Despite working in a highly competitive industry, Gaud’s versatility and consistent performances have earned him both critical and audience acclaim.

Early Life and Entry into Acting

Rohitash Gaud was born on March 24, 1966, in Kalka, Haryana. He developed an interest in acting at a young age and went on to complete his acting education at the prestigious National School of Drama (NSD) in New Delhi. With a solid background in theater, Gaud honed his craft performing in plays and gradually ventured into films and television. His theater experience gave him the foundation to become a skilled actor, capable of taking on both serious and comedic roles.

Gaud made his film debut with Veer Savarkar (2001) but gained wider recognition with his role in Munnabhai M.B.B.S. (2003), where he played one of the hospital ward boys. Although his role was brief, it showcased his talent for blending humor with subtlety, and this would soon become his hallmark in television as well.

Rohitash Gaud : Rise to Fame with Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!

Rohitash Gaud’s breakthrough came with the immensely popular television show Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!, where he portrays Manmohan Tiwari, a flirtatious and traditional middle-aged man who is constantly trying to woo his neighbor’s wife, Angoori Bhabhi. His portrayal of Tiwari, a slightly foolish yet lovable character, became an instant hit among viewers.

What makes Gaud’s performance remarkable is his ability to keep Tiwari’s antics charming without being over-the-top. His onscreen chemistry with co-actors Shubhangi Atre and Aasif Sheikh has been widely appreciated, and his natural flair for comedy has turned Tiwari into one of the most iconic characters on Indian television. His signature catchphrase, “I like it,” has become immensely popular, adding to his character’s appeal.

Although Rohitash Gaud is best known for his comic roles, he has also delivered strong performances in serious roles across films and television. He has appeared in films such as PK (2014) and Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006), playing pivotal characters that reflect his versatility as an actor.
